BIOGRAPHY

The Kamayama Company

It is a contemporary circus-theater duo composed of Linda Vellar and Miguinti Mandala who, through multidisciplinary artistic explorations—ranging from clowning to Butoh dance to sound design — brings to life a hybrid, visual language capable of exploring the depths of the human psyche and emotions.

Linda is an acrobat specializing in vertical acrobatics and aerial disciplines; she graduated from the Cirko Vertigo School and holds a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Heritage. He has performed at festivals throughout Europe with his street show and through various collaborations.

Miguinti is a performer, choreographer, and butoh dancer. He began his career at age 18 as a juggler in Japan, and later taught at the Rogelio Rivel Circus School in Barcelona. For over ten years, she has been sharing her method, “The Utopia of the Body: The Relationship Between Body and Matter,” and her artistic works around the world.

Their professional backgrounds are rich and varied, and have led them to work for traditional circuses, explore street performance, and collaborate with professionals from various artistic fields in theaters, concerts, contemporary circus rings, and experimental arts festivals.

The company was founded on the deep conceptual affinity between the two artists, whose stylistic exploration blends their personal sensibilities along parallel lines of inquiry, combining, in particular, clowning and Butoh dance.
